QUESTION:
hypos without having a low bloodsugar?
For already more than 2 years I have been having hypos without having a low blood sugar. I have tested regulary my blood sugar levels for the past few weeks, and everything is normal. Still, I keep having (usually at certain times) hypos, or at least something with those symptoms. I went to a doctor and he has tested several things and again, everything is normal. This really makes me nuts, because how can I have a consequence without a cause. Does anybody know what this is, or what I can do about it?-
ANSWER:
If your sugar goes down quickly for a large amount- say 60+ , you can feel like you're having a low.
For instance, if your sugar is 250 and it goes down to 160, you may feel like you are having a low sugar.Good luck

QUESTION:
Dieting results in shaking and dizzyness?
I've been trying diet, lowering my daily calorie intake by 500 calories, so my daily total is 1500 calories. Since I've started this, twice I've started shaking, feeling weak, dizzy, and tired and sweating until I ate something. I've researched it and found those are the symptoms of hypoglycemia(low blood sugar), but I don''t have diabetes. Is there a way to diet without this happening?-
ANSWER:
first, go see your doc and get any medical problems ruled out.then if you are all clear, try eating the same foods and same total calories per day, but eating every 2 hours -- just break all of your meals into multiple parts: breakfast part 1, breakfast part 2, snack, lunch parts 1 and 2, snack, dinner, second dinner.

QUESTION:
Sugar a necessity for life?
Ok, many people on here say you can live without sugar. So I tried not to eat sugar for a week and I start feeling fatigue and all sorts of symptoms. So I asked someone why is this happening the person said, your blood sugar might be low. So there. I just don't freakin get it. It gets me pissed off. People keep saying don't eat sugar. So I don't really know If need it anymore.I want real answers, please. No made up crap or else I will report.
Sorry if you think I was rude. I asked this question 2 times and people kept directing me to pointless websites and saying I don't know and things like that. You guys were the answers I was looking for. Thanks.-
ANSWER:
And when you tested your blood sugar to see if it was low, what was your reading?Refined sugar does not, on balance give you energy. Refined sugar, table sugar, is 50% glucose and 50% fructose. Through metabolism each molecule of glucose provides two molecules of ATP, the cellular energy molecule. Glucose is the energy of life. Every cell in your body uses glucose. But it doesn't have to get it from refined table sugar.
The other half of table sugar, fructose, is not required by the body. Contrary to what you might hear, fructose does not convert to glucose. The fructose fraction is sent directly to the liver to be metabolized. The products of that breakdown are:
Uric Acid. Raises Blood Pressure.
LDL. The "Bad" Cholesterol.
Fat Globules. Stored as visceral fat or in liver, causes fatty liver disease.
Causes belly fat.
Uses ATP. Each molecule of fructose uses three molecules of ATP.
Triglycerides. Raises triglycerides, blood fat.Learn to verify everything you hear. Vreify this. You have Billions of little hitch-hikers in your gut. Most are good, some are bad. The bad ones want sugar. If you don't give 'em sugar they start to die off. They don't like that, so they can interfere with your hormones and cause all kinds of trouble. Search "Herxheimer reaction".
BTW. You don't have to be so rude. Most of the people on here are giving the best information they have. You need to check the references given and determine then, if they are credible.

QUESTION:
I have hypoglycemia without diabetes...?
I am not diabetic (Does not run in my family and I have never had any symptoms of it) but for as long as I can remember, I have had hypoglycemia. (I get low blood sugar at random times during the day, and even sometimes after meals.) After I eat, I feel better. Is this a sign of something serious?-
ANSWER:
ummm...yes and no. If you do have hypoglycemia (and it sounds a bit like the symptoms from it) you should be a little careful and eat lots of protein. I don't know how old you are but if you're over puberty age and you're not on a special diet and you haven't had an "episode" yet you're pretty much in the clear. (at this moment check the temp of ur hands and then compare it to the temp of ur arm, remember the relation)
My major stuff/episodes started when puberty hit and they're not pretty. At all. If it's only minor discomfort before eating I'm pretty sure you'll be okay. As you haven't listed any other symptoms I'll assume you don't have them. Were ur hands colder (like a lot, and noticeably) than your arm? This is just another symptom but mine used to get absolutely freezing.
Hopefully ur fine and it isn't serious to do any damage.
You can do tests at a hospital to see if you actually have it.
